Assignment:
For this project, I developed dynamic layouts for a mock publication spread featuring the artist David Wolske’s work.
Process:
As part of my process I conducted research to better understand his work, process, and artistic ethos. Research materials included textual sources such as articles and interviews, along with curated images showcasing the artist's process, final work, tools, applications, and exhibitions.Outcome:
This project challenged me to think critically about how to effectively communicate the essence of an artist's work through design. I chose to create many of my spreads analog by cutting images and paragraphs. For me, this was a new method of layout design that gave me the freedom to experiment. Additionally, I improved my research skills, visual storytelling, and editorial design. As a result, I was able to create a catalog that highlights David’s work effectively.Date: April 2024
